Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance. However, we are happy to provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. This means that we can provide you with a detailed invoice that you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Please note that we cannot guarantee reimbursement from your insurance provider.

Q: What ages do you serve?

A: We serve individuals for ages 2 - 14.

Q: What is behavior analysis?

A: Behavior analysis is the scientific study of behavior. It involves understanding how behavior is influenced by the environment and using that understanding to develop effective strategies to improve behavior.

Q: What is a functional behavior assessment?

A: A functional behavior assessment is a process for understanding the reasons behind a person’s behavior. It involves identifying the antecedents, behavior, and consequences of the behavior to determine what is maintaining it. This information is used to develop effective behavior intervention plans.

Q: What is a behavior intervention plan?

A: A behavior intervention plan is a plan for addressing challenging behavior. It involves developing strategies to prevent the behavior from occurring, teaching alternative behaviors, and providing consequences for appropriate behavior.

Q: What is parent training/family guidance?

A: Parent/family training involves teaching caregivers how to implement behavior intervention plans at home. This includes teaching parents how to use positive reinforcement to increase appropriate behavior, how to decrease inappropriate behavior, and how to use other strategies to promote positive behavior.

Q: What are social skills groups?

A: Social skills groups are groups designed to teach social skills to individuals who have difficulty with social interactions. Our groups are tailored to the needs of each individual and include a variety of activities and strategies to promote social learning. Click here to fill out a social skills group application.

Q: What is a school consultation?

A: A school consultation involves working with school staff to develop strategies to support students with behavior challenges or neurodevelopmental conditions. This can include training staff on behavior strategies, developing behavior intervention plans, and collaborating with other service providers.

Q: How long does it take to see results?

A: The length of time it takes to see results depends on the individual and the behavior challenge. We work closely with families and other service providers to develop effective strategies and monitor progress regularly.

Q: What does it mean to use a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approach?

A: A trauma-informed approach means that we recognize the impact that trauma can have on an individual's behavior and we work to create a safe and supportive environment that promotes meaningful outcomes. A neurodiversity affirming approach means that we recognize and celebrate the diversity of neurological differences among individuals, and we work to create an inclusive environment that values and supports neurodivergent individuals.

Q: What is a client-centered approach?

A: A client-centered approach means that we work collaboratively with our clients and their families to develop individualized treatment plans that are tailored to meet their unique needs and goals. We believe that our clients are the experts on their own lives, and we strive to empower them to take an active role in their own care.

Q: Do you provide intensive 1:1 ABA therapy?

A: No. We only provide parent/caregiver training, social skills groups, and school consultations. The following agencies provide direct ABA therapy in the Hudson Valley:
